Flooring that protects the environment

When it comes to choosing building materials for a commercial project, whether for a new build development or refurbishment, you can be confident that our products have a low environmental impact. With exceptional durability as well as timeless good looks, Designflooring offers an extended product lifespan and desirability.

Like any business, we are aware that the activities of our company have an impact on the environment. Our aim is to remain the leading supplier of LVT flooring and to have a market-leading environmental record of achievement.

Through the development of sustainable products and processes, our flooring is manufactured in factories certified to the ISO 14001 Environmental Standard and ISO 9001 Quality Standard. We source from ISO 14001/ISO 9001 certified raw material suppliers where possible.

Our European operation is certified to ISO 14001:2015
pvc
The backing layers of our flooring is constructed primarily from calcium carbonate whilst the PVC in the wear layer is derived from salt, a highly sustainable resource. Additionally, all our products are low in Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), as well as fully compliant with ‘REACH’ (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) and free heavy metals, ‘BPA’ (bisphenol A), formaldehyde and other materials which are reprotoxic, endocrine disrupting or carcinogenic.

Our European products are CE marked which confirms that they comply with EU Construction Products Regulation 305/2011 and meet the requirements of the harmonised European standard EN 1401.
Designflooring cutting
Our products contain up to 50% recycled material from production and post-production waste. Almost 100% of this production and post-production waste is granulated and recycled back into new product, in a closed loop recycling process, maximising resource efficiency of the manufacturing process. In addition, all our packaging is made using recycled material.

For great looks, acoustic benefits and maximum sustainability credentials, look to our Korlok and Designflooring LooseLay ranges. Where Korlok is designed to be laid without the need for adhesive, Designflooring LooseLay can be installed with minimal adhesive and re-purposed in future installations. Both collections have been certified with the Quiet Mark.
philate free
Furthermore, all our products made in our factories are phthalates free, ensuring a healthy and safe environment

Designflooring is the perfect choice when specifying products for thermal comfort in accordance with ISO 8302:1991. With benefits over other flooring options such as natural stone, our products are warm underfoot and compatible with underfloor heating to provide a comfortable environment and reduce heating energy requirements.

We are committed to minimising our impacts through the operation of our Environmental Management System to continually improve our environmental performance and that of our suppliers and sub-contractors.
